Casa de los Balcones

Drago Milenario
The Drago Milenario, or Dragon Tree, is a tree peculiar to the Canary Islands. The tree is known locally as the ‘Thousand Year Old Dragon Tree’, contrary to native speculation though this tree is approximately 600 years old. This giant tree symbolises the Island.

Pico del Teide
The Pico del Teide is the highest mountain in Spain. It is an active volcano, but is ‘sleeping’ at the moment. The region surrounding the Pico del Teide is a national park, and the summit can be reached either by foot or cable car.

Garachico
For over 200 years Garachico was Tenerife’s busiest port, but was destroyed when the Volcan Negro erupted. Today the old port lies buried underneath the present town. The old Franciscan monastery, Convento de San Francisco survived the eruption, and now holds events and exhibitions.

Loro Parque
Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz is a fantastic family attraction in Tenerife.
Not only is it a tropical wildlife park, but it also mixes conservation, education and fun together. Loro Parque is an excellent day out for the whole family.

Los Gigantes
The Giants’ is one of Tenerife’s most breathtaking sights. The sheer rock face soars 600m into the air. The cliffs are best seen from a sightseeing boat.

Mercado Nuestra Senora de Africa
The "Market of Our Lady of Africa” is Tenerife’s main produce market. Fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables adorn the sidewalks, along with fresh fish and meat stalls. A "rastro" market takes over on a Sunday, a mix between a flea market and a craft market.

A museum dedicated to Canary Islands’ folk and culture. Housed in a beautiful Canarian farmhouse, this museum takes you back to the 17th Century.

Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion
"Our Lady if the Immaculate Conception", in La Laguna, is the oldest church on the island of Tenerife. This church holds the coveted title of being a Spanish national shrine. The foundations were laid in 1502, and over the centuries the church has benefited from the finest craftsmanship.

Parque Nacional de Garajonay
The national park of Garajonay, in La Gomera, is a massive area of protected forest. Situated on the southern shore, a damper, cooler climate exists. Flora and fauna flourishes with abundance. There is a visitor centre with a small museum, and traditional arts and crafts are demonstrated by local craftspeople.
