The South
For centuries the South was little more than a desert, everything beyond the Pico del Teide was arid and unwelcoming, until that is, the tourists stepped aboard. Now the South is full of life and entertainment.

The West
The climate is hotter and drier than the North or South, and the land looks more volcanic. The Pico del Teide looms above everything else. The first tourists were drawn to the resort of Puerto de la Cruz.

La Gomera
Fancy a good day out? La Gomera is a tiny island 32km from the Southern tip of Tenerife. So far the tiny island of La Gomera has escaped the onslaught of mass tourism. In the past, the terrain made it difficult for inhabitants to colonise, but with the recently built airport in the South, this may change. At the moment there are only a couple of hotels, albeit the best hotels in the Canaries, and entertainment is virtually non-existent. It is an ideal place to stay if you wish for tranquillity and simplicity. La Gomera is easily reached by ferries, which land at San Sebastian, the capital of the island.
